CMAC – Quarantine Extension Letter #6
Dear Chandler MAC!
Here we are… heading into week 6 of quarantine… and we need to change things up!
First let us review what we have done so far:
We have offered 18+ classes each week for 5 weeks! Everyone has been working around the clock and coming up with fun new ways to approach our traditional training. We have had a dojo game every week, new classes, weapon challenges, workout challenges, private lessons, and even video conferencing training — and now we are literally at the half way point between when this quarantine began and our next belt test. It is time for a fun dojo midterm!!!
Starting Tuesday, April 21, 2020, we are going to offer ZOOM video calls in place of all our classes. This will allow our instructors to visually see and and interact with their students.. providing important correction on techniques as well as allowing everyone a chance to engage, interact, and ask any necessary questions. Its exactly what we all need— A virtual chance to be together as a dojo, class by class!
The ZOOM calls will be simple to access. I will host all calls (even if I am not there as lead instructor) for the class. All you have to do is access the site ZOOM.us through any server on your computer or through the ZOOM App on any mobile device (phone or tablet). You do not have to sign up personally at all – just hit “Join a Meeting” and type in the codes below.
The Meeting ID number will be: 494 777 9057
The Meeting Password will be: 562 284
This is an exciting time to participate in classes! We are going to shake things up a little and have some fun 🙂 Participation in classes this week will be recorded and will influence our next belt test. So please make sure you are signed into your proper classes. And let’s get to work!
For those who -for whatever reason- can not make the ZOOM conference calls this week, we will be reposting old videos at the appropriate classes times so your training will not be hindered at all. Feel free to do both classes if you desire more training.
Please remember – training is not just the physical training of our muscles. Be a warrior in all aspects of life— Mind, Body, and Spirit. Think of how to spread peace civically by doing some good.. the last two weeks, we have made it a focus to reach out to the fringes of our communities and check on those most isolated. This week, let’s be intentional to encourage someone. It is really good for us to practice looking outside of our own bubbles to see into some else’s world and speak “peace” into it. We all need to be reminded that we are not alone. Again, if we all act intentionally as a community, we can make a difference. Small steps can change the world. Let’s be warriors that do our part and demonstrate the Way of Peace. GO CMAC!
